Now challenging career building for tourism and hospitality management students.

This is very hard time  for all sectors, one of them is hospitality. Career has been into a panicking peak because of poor classes without practice, online presentation classes only, no job campus recruitment, no college or university environment and no peer counseling and interaction openly,  due to online classes with all facilities with proper classes too. In this critical aspect, there must be 3 skills need to be honed as soon as possible. 1. Communication skills 2. Fluent English Speaking skill  4. Personality Development with soft skills.

A student from tourism and hospitality management should opt intensive and extensive hobbies to enhance English Speaking Skill, Etiquette, Interview skill, Presentation Skill, Public Speaking skill, Body Language, Personality Development, Persuasive Skill, Professional & personal grooming, Attitude development, Basic Written Skill, Multitasking skill, and Confidence Building.

In hospitality industry, all professional soft skills are to be acquired and prepared to meet up all workplace challenges. It does not matter how hard these skills are to upskill, as per high demand of the management. Skills need to sharpened and shaped up.

Apart from those required skills, in addition to it, there are also some critical essential skills requirements in workforce management for industrial growth rate. There are stress management, emotional intelligence, sympathy and empathy behavioral aspect, team work, strategy making, creativity and innovation, ability to work under pressure, attention details and problem solving ability.

This tourism and hospitality management need skilled professional, even if somebody is a fresher or just passed out from academy. Even though candidates  undergo toughest interview round. Required skills are the first parameters for recruitment. There are still challenges after being placed when working and dealing with customers or colleagues.

Listening skill and working in odd hours are two majors prerequisites to obtaining this tourism, travel and hospitality industry. Now this current scenario demands skill development to fit into every assessment of pre and post recruitment process.

This Covid-19  pandemic in the country has ruined the travel industry and recruitment for the time being and business scopes have gone down its worst level. This has been an antipathy to newly passing out students. They are not able to see themselves in the dream job. By comprehensive analysis, this is recommended to start improving self-help-grow skills being at home place or in any rooms. Certification from academy is not dignified in career until unless upskilling fulfilled as demanded and directed.

How can one improve those skills as required by upstanding workforce? If the students lack requisite experiences in skills, they will encounter with disappointments and stress in life. There is multiple resourceful training to enroll in capacity building of short & medium terms courses. One can involve in self study or personal grooming with the help of social media where free training are being offered. Nothing can beat your permission. Take this note seriously and start to train yourself for bright career with young dynamic spirit. Thank you!
