In most of competitive entrance, English is one of the chapters which are taken as a main subject for writing an entrance. It becomes very difficult when the candidate is not well prepared to use English effectively as on the exams format is concerned in respective pattern. 

Competitive English for entrances represent a different syllabus. It needs analytical and critical thinking ability of  candidates by comprehensive knowledge which is a part of written exams & evaluation.

It  widely needs to know that there are reading comprehension, error correction, sentence arrangements, para jumbled, synonyms, antonyms, analogy, one word substitution, spelling pitfalls, and and other sentence identification.

These are the most common patterns for English competitive entrance questions. Now here, it arises the questions that Communicative English and Competitive English are not in the general terms; both are totally different from different study angles.

Competitive English is all about, based on language analysis. There are different kinds of advanced level of reasoning & analytical based English questions pattern, according to the different stages of examination may be for purposes of university admission or any corporate recruitment process. 

It may differ from government to private departments & questions designed and selected accordingly. The way it's been designed by research, moreover, most common format is always  go by above discussed points.

Now the big question is how to prepare those competitive English and strengthen to hold grammar knowledge alongside analytical  command in respect of  being error free.

Being a student or a career aspirant, who is  preparing for competitive entrance and taking English as a challenging subject; must follow by perseverance and  attentive behavioral habits.  There are certain things which can be  developed by learning habit.

1. Improve vocabulary every day from intensive and extensive reading habit, find out those words which are not known to you underline them & maintain a record of such common words.

2. Follow grammar rules from parts of speech, tenses, models and sentence formation.

3.Learn word agreement and usage of nouns, pronouns, adjective, verb, article, adverb, preposition, conjunction, and interjection. The 9 words are followed by grammatical rules and word agreement, that are to be studied properly.

4. Understand the questions keenly and start following learning ability with accurate preparation & full attention followed by systematic routine study.

5. Reading comprehension must be improved by contextual ability. Reading habit should go through fast reading & fast understanding.

6. It must be understood that the grammar  is used very less in competitive English and it covers analytical and critical thinking ability based questions which can be solved with proper language comprehensive learning. 

7. Vocabulary is King and one can improve vocabulary from collocation, synonyms, antonyms, one word substitution, idioms, phrases,  root and origin.

8. Sentence improvements must be followed by all tenses structures and specification  of restricted grammatical rules in parts of speech.

9. Nouns, Adjectives, Main verbs and Adverbs are content words. They have meaning and grammatical  usage.

10. Pronoun, Article, Auxiliary Verbs, Preposition and Conjunction belong to  grammatical words. They have rules and regulations in sentence formation along with restricted rules for its usage in language.

11. The best practice is to solve many questions again and again with grammar quiz, fill in the blanks, comprehension, vocabulary, sentence arrangement, and error correction.

12. If a candidate solves all kinds of questions by taking challenging grammatical top level questions then one can build up confidence and be well prepared to face any kind of English competitive entrance without any  fear.

So, in conclusion, I would like to state that most of challenging factors of learning English can be solved by regular habit and by fulfilling the requirements of  entrance takers.

As it is also noticed that banking questions of English will differ from SSC and railway, somewhere it would become easier somewhere toughest but the point is as for the requirement of competitive entrance; there are also small things mistaken sometime. 

Understanding question pattern is very essential.  A candidate must be willing to work open grammatical usage. Strong determination is required during preparation to fulfill goals towards target examination or entrance.
